Summary to date: After 3 days in Istanbul we 'trained' it to Konya , drove to Cappadocia (Valley of the Fairy Chimneys) for three nights. then drove through the snow capped Taurus Mountains to Mersin on the South coast (above Cyprus). The rest of our journey is basically west along the Mediterranean to Bodrum and back up the west coast to Istanbul - see map above
